Ventura Team is unusual in that we advise companies, makes investments in our own right and also takes hands-on management responsibility for operations. 

Ventura is perhaps the only consultancy that has backed its own expertise by starting up an operator that now has: 

• 80,000 subscribers
• 100 megabit/s connections to residential customers over fibre
• xDSL and WiMAX customers
• retail and wholesale operations  

This operator is one of the most efficient in the world (2,500 subscribers per employee) but has been bootstrapped with almost no investment.  Experience from this operator is combined with our experience from our consulting work to provide realistic and pragmatic advice to our clients.

We work across the technology space but with a focus on telecoms, broadband and software.  Ventura:

• helps build businesses for others – taking start ups all the way through to success or building new ventures for multi-nationals;
• develops new businesses in our own right – we have invested in, and are building, a small portfolio of broadband companies across Europe;
• solves complex business problems – rescuing projects and programmes, carrying out major change initiatives, developing both strategy and the underlying business models.

We work for equity and/or fees depending on the opportunity and back our ability by sharing risk with our clients.

We have experience of $100 billion of telecoms finance deals, taking business from start-up through to NASDAQ flotation (post-acquisition) and have helped companies achieve uplifts of up to 75 times of their first round share valuation.  Our team has installed 15,000kms of fibre and set up operators across three continents.
